New Application Builds Driver Relationships
 Enhancing Carrier Recruiting Efforts

East Moline, Ill: EBE Technologies announces today the release of Applicant Relationship Management System (ARMS) as an add-on module to its SHIPS Recruiting solution.  ARMS provides carriers with the ability to automatically correspond with either a driver who has left the company or an applicant  who has been “temporarily” disqualified based on timing, event or location.  The solution positions carriers to build relationships with drivers in an effort to develop, maintain and communicate with a larger pool of potential applicants.

ARMS was developed to help companies keep better visibility and communicate with those drivers that have either left the company on their own accord or have been previously disqualified based on age, violations or other disqualification criteria.   As time goes by, drivers become eligible for employment as the number of violations they have accrued are reduced; they reach the required age, gain their number of years of experience or simply live in a location radius where a new terminal may be opening.

A specific contact matrix and event confirmation process is created to ensure applicants receive communications from the carrier according to their status.  Based on this status, a defined contact frequency and method are automatically scheduled for the driver. Communication options include email, postcard or recruiter phone contact.  The system offers integration capabilities with third party email solutions to auto generate company branded email messages. The matrix also indicates when to alert recruiters as the driver becomes eligible for employment.

Within the SHIPS recruiting software, an applicant is assigned a status code based on the reason it was placed inactive.  This code can be assigned to an applicant by a recruiter, an event, a status within the dispatch system or SHIPS qualification scoring matrix. As examples, a recruiter could assign a status code based on an applicant’s request to be re-contacted; an event triggering a status code could represent a driver missing an orientation session; the dispatch system could assign a unique status code to a driver who resigned but is eligible for rehire; SHIPS qualification matrix could assign a status code based not meeting a minimum age requirement.

To demonstrate an automated ARMS process, a driver is assigned a status code based upon being eligible for rehire after he resigns.  ARMS sends the driver a specified postcard or email expressing the carrier’s wish to rehire the driver. A subsequent communication is produced to inquire if the new position is meeting his expectations. An additional event schedules a phone call for the original recruiter to contact the driver encouraging him to return to the company.

“As the driver shortage, CSA regulations, and company defined demands continue to create significant hiring challenges, ARMS becomes a more valuable asset for carriers. Maintaining communications and building relationships with these drivers and being alerted immediately when they become eligible for employment, gives carriers a leg up on hiring.  If companies can begin building a relationship with these drivers before they are employed, that will not only help them attract new drivers, but increase a carrier’s opportunity of keeping them”, said Cindy Nelson, EBE’s VP of Marketing and Business Development.

ARMS maximizes the opportunity for carriers to grow and maintain a qualified applicant pool based on company-defined business standards.  Because the system manages the entire process automatically, the tedious manual attention typically required to execute such aggressive marketing strategies is minimized – allowing recruiters efforts to focus on identifying and processing active candidates.

The ARMS application is an optional module to SHIPS Recruiting Solution.  It can be purchased initially as carriers implement a new system or selected as an add-on module for carriers currently using SHIPS Recruiting software. SHIPS Recruiting software manages the complete hiring cycle.  Beginning with the processing of web, faxed, mailed or phoned-in applications, the software then applies qualification rules against applications, automates and audits the verification process including electronic interfaces to third parties such as HireRight and previous employment verifications. The on-boarding process is done automatically as driver qualification files are received and verified against applicant data.
