Dispatch Driven Training to Enhance Driver Retention and Reduce Cargo Claims
Nashville, TN – EBE Technologies, the leading provider of enterprise automated decision support (ADS) applications for the transportation and logistics industry, announces at the TMW PeopleNet In.Sight User Conference, an enhancement within the industry’s leading Learning Management System (LMS). The enhancement will automatically schedule move specific training based on dispatch activity. Activities include customer, commodity or stop codes, from which lessons are scheduled for drivers. Such training is scheduled for a driver in real-time based on either a pre-planning or move acceptance activity.
EBE’s LMS monitors the dispatching system for shipper codes, commodity codes and stop codes. Based on the combination of such codes, a determination is made if “special instruction” are associated with the move.
This dispatch driven training allows a carrier to increase driver retention, reduce cargo claims and maintain a competitive advantage. By educating a driver as to what training is required of them when arriving or departing from a specific distribution center or shipper's location, efficiencies are improved and the driver’s experience is more positive.
By providing specific cargo securement training based on commodity code or specific packaging instructions as provided by the shipper, cargo claims will be reduced. The reduction in claims will improve the carrier’s profitability, driver relations and improve the shippers supply chain commitment to the carrier.

Shipper specific training also allows a carrier to differentiate themselves from other carriers. Through dispatch driven training, a carrier can demonstrate a clear advantage to a shipper that the carrier’s drivers will possess the training and understanding as to how to prevent damage to goods which may impact their customer comment schedules. A reduction in claims will also reduce a shippers administrative cost and improve their service reputation.
Integrated to EBE’s Connect Mobile Capture (CMC), drivers can also take photos of secured cargo for review in an auditing workflow. Those photos can then be made available through a customer web portal so that the shipper can review load securement standards. This process mitigates claims and provides the shippers with evidence of cargo securement compliance.
