Improve Intermodal Operations With An Alternative to In-Cab Scanning
EBE's Connect Mobile Capture/Intermodal in-cab scanning application meets the unique needs of Intermodal carriers, which include relying heavily on independent contractors, the need for dispatch-generated delivery receipts, and the requirement of chassis confirmation notifications to prevent erroneous moves. The benefits provided by the Intermodal version of EBE's Fleet Mobility solution address these factors and offer a more efficient and profitable means of doing business for both the contractor and the carrier.
- Eliminates the printing of Delivery Receipts.
- Improves detention charge collections.
- Limits service failures.
- Allows the carrier to perform more moves with the same number of drivers.
- Lowers recruiting and retention costs.
- Improves profitability through more productive use of HOS, detention reimbursement, and fuel expenses.
- Allows for better management of expense documents for tax purposes.
- Improves inefficiencies by eliminating the need to return to the terminal to provide needed paperwork.
Designed to Exceed the Needs of Intermodal Carriers
CMC’s Detention Management functionality leaves nothing to chance. Integration to a carrier’s dispatch or mobile communications system provides the ability to apply the arrival/departure times and detention authorizations directly to the Delivery Receipt. The system alerts shippers via email and the web portal of driver’s waiting times and presents this information on the document. Finally, the departure time is documented when the electronic DR is signed or the driver exits the Geofence.
Through integration to dispatch, both the chassis location and number are communicated to the driver through the CMC application. Carrier service failures are reduced and Contractor profitability is increased by eliminating wasted hours and fuel associated with searching for the chassis location or delivering the wrong chassis.
CMC makes it easier for Independent Contractors to manage their expenses through the mobile capture of documents and receipts. A private folder is made available to the driver within the application to store photos and expense documents. Drivers can also provide secure access to other individuals who require viewing of these documents. This driver retention tool is one additional benefit your organization can offer to help the contractor manage his/her expenses more responsibly and become a more profitable businessperson.
